The Slave Dwelling Project: Dickerson-Wood Family Reunion at Somerset Place
Somerset Place State Historic Site and The Slave Dwelling Project will be hosting the Dickerson-Wood Family Reunion at Somerset Place on Saturday, August 3, 2019. The Dickerson-Wood family are descendants of Kofi and Sally, two of the eighty enslaved native Africans to arrive at Somerset Place in June 1786. The event programming will be open to the visiting public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include living history, storytelling, artists, vendors, guided tours and hands-on educational activities. The event admission is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.

The mission of The Slave Dwelling Project is to raise awareness and organize resources to preserve, interpret, maintain and sustain extant slave dwellings and other structures significant to the stories of the enslaved Ancestors.
